Introducing the 2006 version of Trail Sense Engineering's TrailMAC Digital Camera. The new Olympus D-435 5.1 MegaPixel zoom camera adds a larger viewing screen and continues to utilize the new xD Picture Card for image storage. Motion sensor operates for 4-months on only 2 C cell batteries. Camera operates on only 2AA's, 1 CR-V3, or the BES for up to 4 months or 100-1500 shots. The New Smart Detection Technology found on all 2006 Digital TrailMAC's essentially matches the zone of detection to the viewing angle of the digital camera. The Olympus D-435 5.1 Megapixel digital camera employs a wide angle lens. All 2006 Digital TrailMAC cameras come standard with an optically coated polycarbonate lens. This coating provides 99.99% light transmission and greatly reduces glare both from the sun during the day, and the camera flash at night. This is a very similar coating to those found on rifle scopes and high quality binoculars. The coating is very easy to notice by the bluish hue seen on the lens. Three systems work together to provide the best flash distance of any digital trail camera available. First is the incredibly powerful flash built into the Olympus digital D-435 camera, second is a flash modification Trail Sense Engineering, LLC has built into each camera, and lastly, is the optical coating on the polycarbonate lens providing the utmost in light transmission. The aiming light on all 2006 Digital TrailMACs serves three primary functions: First it indicates when ever you enter the zone of detection by blinking. This assists you in both determining the detection zone width at various distances, but also the maximum detect distance at that location (due to terrain, outdoor temps, etc). Second, it tells the user, using the various modes (Day Only, Night Only, or 24hr), whether there is enough light (or if its dark enough (night only)) for the unit to trigger the camera. In other words, say you setup the unit for day only mode in your favorite spot, however, it is very dense pines during the summer, and your setting the camera up after work in the evening. It may be so shady that there is not enough light for the unit to work in that exact spot. In this case, the light will not blink at all, telling you, you need a location with more light at that time of day! The same is true for night only mode. In 24 hour operation, of course no light test occurs. Finally, the aiming light serves to tell you when the 2 C -Cell batteries operating the motion sensor are running low. In aiming mode only, it will blink constantly (like a Christmas Light) telling you its about time to change the batteries. In camera active mode, no indicator is present. This battery indicator is designed to come on at approximately 3 months (or 3000 pictures) and the batteries typically go dead at approximately 4 months (or 4000 motion detects). How are we Different from our competitors? Well, that's easy! We've told you for some time now that the on/off technology is the way to go and now we've got many of our competitors convinced as well. So now what's better about the way we do it??? Simple! Every one of our digital cameras are interfaced to our electronics by an Authorized Olympus Service Center!! That's right!! They do it for us!! We receive the cameras directly from them, ready to plug into our electronics. This is important to you, the buyer, for several reasons: It guarantees compatibility between the camera and the motion sensing electronics. If warranty service is ever required, your Olympus digital camera's warranty is not voided by the camera modification. If for some reason you have trouble 3-4 years down the road, you'll still be able to receive service from either Olympus or its factory authorized service center. The cost of this service will certainly be less than buying a whole new digital game camera.
